Do you enjoy nature and animals? This tour offers you the opportunity to learn about butterflies, see Australian wildlife, including koala bears, free roaming kangaroos and more.

You'll drive to Kuranda, a small town nestled in the majestic rainforest that borders Cairns. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief orientation tour of this charming village before visiting the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary. This aviary is home to over 1,500 tropical butterflies, all local to the area including the blue Ulysses butterfly. It is designed to recreate their natural rainforest habitat, complete with a running stream. Here, you’ll have a chance to learn more about these beautiful, fluttering insects.

You’ll continue on to the Koala and Wildlife Park, where you’ll see koalas wander among free-roaming kangaroos and wallabies, and visit an exciting nocturnal display. You can even get your picture taken holding an adorable koala, for an additional fee. Enjoy scenic views on your return drive to the ship.
