OVERVIEW

Fly high over Durban in a helicopter for a bird’s-eye view of the sprawling urban landscape before heading inland and following the Umgeni River Valley. Once you take a seat in the helicopter and its rotors start turning, the thrills will begin in earnest. As you soar over Durban, you will get a good sense of the topography, which will become more mountainous and forested as you fly west. Looking down, you will see Tops Needle, the raging whitewater rapids of the Umgeni River, and the massive reservoir behind the Inanda Dam. You will also pass over the Valley of a Thousand Hills, which has been home to the Zulu people for centuries. Once the helicopter lands on a mountain plateau, you will deplane for a leisurely picnic. The views will be spectacular in every direction, especially the one overlooking Durban with the Indian Ocean in the distance.
