OVERVIEW

With 600 square kilometers of surface, Lagoa Mundaú represents one of the largest ecosystems in the state of Alagoas, as well as important historical, cultural, social, and economic aspects. A 20-minute drive will take you to the "Pontal da Barra", a typical fishermen's neighborhood where the most famous lace makers in Maceió are located. You will then board a regional catamaran to cross the lagoon and its channels in a stunning natural setting made up of islands, home for local fishermen and lace makers. The area is also formed by sandbanks and mangrove vegetation, various fish and crustaceans, and secluded beaches. You will make a stop at the “Prainha Verde” near where the lagoon meets the sea. Enjoy free time for swimming and sunbathing on this amazing stretch of sand that is ranked among the ten most beautiful beaches in Brazil—a fine distinction in a country blessed with literally hundreds of magnificent bays. You will sail back to Pontal da Barra, where there will be a stop to explore stalls displaying typical handicrafts at Barra Handicraft Market. Next, return to your vehicle for the drive back to the port.
