OVERVIEW

Marvel at Greenland’s pristine natural beauty while cruising the Nuuk Fjord and stop at a particularly scenic spot for a traditional picnic and folkloric performance. As you cruise into the majestic fjord, which is part of the world’s second-largest fjord system, the sights will be absolutely breathtaking. You can expect to pass free-floating icebergs, thundering waterfalls, and sheer-faced mountains that plunge into the sea. The large solitary mountain looming just north of Nuuk is Sermitsiaq, which covers most of the island of the same name. The fjord stretches inland for nearly a hundred miles, and wildlife is abundant so be sure to look for white-tailed eagles, seals and humpback whales. In time, you will disembark or at some point, your boat will anchor at a picturesque spot for a traditional picnic onboard, featuring samplers and grilled meats such as reindeer and musk-ox, as well as seafood options. All the while, local storytellers and folkloric dancers will provide entertainment and cultural insights.

Note: Comfortable shoes, warm clothing and sun protection are recommended. Not recommended for those with mobility issues. Operation of this program is contingent upon favorable weather and sea conditions. Although the percentage of marine life/wildlife sightings is high, it cannot be guaranteed. The program can be conducted either with a larger, slower boat (36 seats) or with several smaller, fast boats of different capacities (6 - 12 seats). The duration of the tour is 3 hours if it is done with the smaller speedboats, which can reach the destination faster. The picnic and entertainment can be organized either ashore or on board, depending on the capacity of the boat, tides and weather conditions.
