OVERVIEW

Observe iconic African wildlife while driving through the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and then spend hours enjoying beach activities at Cape Vidal. The adventure will begin at the Bhangazi gate entrance to the wetlands park, where you will hop into a off-road vehicle and drive into South Africa’s first UNESCO World Heritage site. Countless birds and mammals such as zebra, wildebeest, kudu and nyala antelopes thrive in the bush, and you are sure to spot many of them from the open-top vehicle. After pausing at scenic Mission Rocks, which is named for a 19th-century Norwegian reverend that built a mission there, you will continue on the lengthy stretch of sand that rims the cape’s eastern shore. With its sheltered beach and shallow waters near the shore, this part of Cape Vidal is ideal for snorkeling and a refreshing swim in the sea. A lunch of grilled BBQ known as a braai will be served.
