OVERVIEW

Travel through the Thula Thula Private Game Reserve in an open-top vehicle that is ideal for the unobstructed viewing of Africa’s most iconic animals. The former hunting grounds of King Shaka, the founder of the Zulu empire, this sprawling wildlife reserve is teeming with elephants, rhinos, giraffe, hippos and countless other creatures. Watching these animals up close in their natural habitats is an experience that you will find immensely enriching and emotionally moving. As you drive through the bush with a wildlife ranger, you can’t help but appreciate the serenity. It’s no wonder that the reserve was named Thula Thula, which in the Zulu language means “peace and tranquility.” Be sure to ask how elephants were successfully reintroduced into the habitat in 1999 after being absent for more than a century. To complement your adventure, you will dine on a buffet of traditional South African dishes.
