OVERVIEW

Walk through the heart of Seyðisfjörður, a town of just 700 people at the innermost point of the fjord of the same name. As you proceed past the town’s characteristic chalet-style wooden homes, you will learn how Seyðisfjörður was settled in the mid-1800s by herring fishermen who prospered from the fjord’s sheltered, easy-to-fish waters. Upon reaching the iconic Blue Church, then into the old town center with a selection of souvenir shops and the well-known "Rainbow Street". Taking a few minutes to explore that area on our own. From the town center we walk onwards around the estuary lake in the middle of the town along the main road enjoying the visual experience of the local houses intermingled with more recent artwork before heading back to the ship.

• Dress in weather-appropriate clothing.
• Wear flat comfortable walking shoes.

Need to Know:

Note: This tour includes approximately 1 hour of walking on flat surfaces for about 3 miles (5 km) and 6 steps to enter the Church, there is no ramp. It is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Casual, weather-appropriate, warm layered clothing and comfortable, flat, sturdy walking shoes are suggested.
