OVERVIEW

The wildlife, flora and fauna of Zanzibar are yours to behold during this picturesque walking tour through the Jozani Forest. Depart the pier for the 1-hour drive to the Jozani Forest Reserve, located about 22 miles southeast of Zanzibar. The largest area of mature forest remaining on Zanzibar, Jozani hosts a sizable population of rare indigenous red colobus monkeys. Upon arrival, you will take a 1-hour guided walking tour along the forest paths. Along the way, you may see Sykes monkeys, bushbabies, aders duikers, hyraxes, bush pigs, and small bucks. Over 50 species of butterflies and about 40 species of birds can also be found in this small area. Following your walking tour, you will have some free time at your leisure before re-boarding the coach for the 1-hour return drive to the pier.

Note: Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and closed-toe shoes they won't mind getting dirty, as this tour involves approximately 1 hour of walking along paths that can be muddy.
