Cross the residential neighborhoods of Fort-de-France, to stop at the Church of Balata. From its square, enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the capital and the bay of Fort-de-France. Continue to Depaz Rum Distillery to learn all about sugar plantations and rum. At the end of the visit, enjoy a rum tasting.


La Route de la Trace, cutting deep into tropical forest, will take you to the city of Saint-Pierre, former capital of Martinique, completely destroyed in 1902 by the eruption of Mt. Pelée. Join a guided tour of the Volcano Museum and the ruins of the old theater. You’ll return via the west coast of Martinique.
