Discover fascinating aspects of the native wildlife and local culture at a science center and a photo stop at the University of Alaska. Then return to Sitka to sample a selection of local craft beers. After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive at the Sitka Sound Science Center, which includes a fish hatchery and an aquarium full of marine creatures indigenous to these waters. It’s an ideal environment to learn about sea lions, harbor seals, sea anemones and giant octopus. You may even touch some fascinating marine creatures in the nursery. The tour continues with a short drive across the bridge to the University of Alaska for a scenic photo stop and WWII history. Reboard your motorcoach for a scenic drive to an Alaska-style restaurant for a light lunch. Here you'll enjoy a sampling of fresh seafood and sides, paired with three 4oz tastings of locally-brewed beer for the full Taste of Sitka experience. Your tour concludes here at the cruise terminal. Explore the local shops for gifts and return to the ship at your leisure.
