After tendering to St. George, you will begin a leisurely walking tour of town, which was founded in 1612 and became the island’s first capital. The ambiance and 17th- and 18th-century architecture exudes history.

Along the way, you may pass the Tucker House Museum and St. Peter’s Church, the oldest continually used church in the western hemisphere. You will notice that many of the alleys, such as Needle & Thread and Barber’s, are named for former trades that flourished here. After departing from the pier in an open-air train trolley, you will soon arrive in the heart of the Royal Naval Dockyard. Known as the “Gibraltar of the West,” the dockyard played a vital role in War of 1812 and both World Wars. As you ride the trolley through the streets, the conductor will entertain you with colorful anecdotes and fascinating facts about the history and architecture of the dockyard. Along the way, you will pass the Royal Navy Cemetery, which dates back to 1812. Other points of interest include Lagoon Park, whose mangroves support a thriving population of birds, and Somerset Village, a residential area on Somerset Island that was settled centuries ago.

The tour ends back at the pier. However, as an alternative, the conductor will drop you at Clock Tower Mall to browse the shops and then you may return to the pier later on your own.

A scenic drive takes you to to Tarxien where you’ll visit the Tarxien Temples. They are renowned for the detail of their carvings, which include domestic animals carved in relief, altars, and screens decorated with spiral designs and other patterns.

Head to the southern part of the island to see some of the most unique prehistoric monuments in the world, at the temple of Hagar Quim. Learn about Malta’s origins when you visit the underground caves in Ghar Dalam. Here, the first traces of life on the island date back 180,000 years. Fossilized remains of animals found here, date back to the last glacial period. Before returning to Valetta, you’ll make a short stop for photos at the colorful fishing village of Marsaxlokk.

A see through live tank allows you to watch the catch until the end of the day, when they’re released back into the sea. Board a 20-seat, safari vehicle, sit back and enjoy a scenic drive along the coast as you make your way to Te Awanga and Cape Kidnappers Station. Arriving at Cape Kidnappers Station, a privately-owned country farm, you’ll be driven over the rich farmland to within a few feet of the gannet sanctuary at Cape Kidnappers. It is a mystical building constructed according to ancient Thai specifications and the largest wood-carved structure in Thailand.

Designed as a pagoda-shaped pavilion, the building is over 340 feet tall. It is a fusion of religion, culture and art. Originally crafted entirely from Thailand's native teak, parts of the Wooden Pavilion have been replaced by the more durable redwood to withstand the ravages of the salt air. Every square inch of the building is covered with intricate and detailed wooden sculptures depicting the Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge and Eastern Philosophy. Once inside, you’ll have an opportunity to view the cavernous inner chapel, which reveals scenes from Chinese, Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

Dunedin is known for being home to some of the country's most adored Victorian structures, its streets are adorned with a collection of historic buildings, cathedrals and churches. A scenic drive past the charming towns of the shores of Otago Harbor brings you to Olveston. You’ll visit the Olveston Historic Home, the original home of a wealthy family that was built between 1904 and 1906. It offers a glimpse into the refined way of life in days past. Departing from Olveston, you’ll pass several historical landmarks including the Gothic revival-styled Otago University, the Law Courts, Otago Boys High School, First Church, and the Edwardian mansions of Royal Terrace and High Streets.

Visit the Dunedin Botanic Garden where the gardens cover some 69 acres and were the first public botanical gardens established in New Zealand. Free time will be provided for you to admire the well-manicured lawns, splashing fountains and statuary and an extensive collection of camellias, annuals and colorful roses. The Winter Garden Glasshouse has a great range of temperate species on display and there is also a substantial rock garden.

Settle in for an exceptionally scenic drive along Jamaica’s lush northern shore with stops every so often for photos. As you travel west, the area’s stunning natural beauty will be on full display. The story of Annee Palmer, the mistress of Rose Hall Great House, is not easily forgotten! It is said that Annee Palmer had three husbands during her reign as mistress of the Rose Hall Plantation and each of them died a sudden and violent death. She gained a reputation for extreme cruelty and her nickname “White Witch of Rose Hall”. Annie was feared by the slaves who lived on and worked the plantation. She ruled with an iron fist, and defiance or even perceived insolence was answered with public whippings, torture in the dungeon, or even death.

According to local legend, Annee’s restless spirit still roams the grounds, following her untimely death at the hands of a cunning slave. Accounts of her enduring presence have been featured on the TV programs “Ghost Hunters International” and World’s Scariest Places”. Departing the Great House, pause for a while at the Shoppes at Rose Hall where you’ll have an opportunity to purchase that special souvenir to remind you of your visit to Jamaica. Crafts, exquisite gems, jewelry, watches, coffee, spices, sauces, clothing and alluring perfumes are all part of the available duty-free shopping. The tour continues to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville by the sea, in the heart of Montego Bay’s hip strip for a cool tropical drink before arriving back at the ship.

Please note that you will not be purchasing your ingredients for the cooking class here as they have already been prepared by the school. Next, you will be escorted to the Nora Beach Resort & Spa for a memorable cooking class and lunch. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at the resort with a traditional Thai Herbal beverage prior to your cooking class. You will then watch and learn how the chef prepares the food and explains the traditional methods used in Thai cooking. During this 90-minute cooking demonstration, you will be invited to don an apron and chef's hat and help prepare your meal before enjoying the results of your efforts. You will begin with a delicious bowl of chicken soup made with fresh coconut milk. Next, you will dine on deep-fried stuffed crabmeat served with Thai noodles. Refreshing seasonal fresh fruit will cap off your meal. Before returning to the ship a stop will be made at the Big Buddha Temple. It features a 36-foot golden statue perched atop a wide staircase decorated with dragons. The statue of Buddha is visible from several miles away and creates an impressive silhouette against the sea and sky behind it. Surrounding the Buddha, you will find a number of meditation huts, or kutis, along with several striking golden statues and shops.

Immerse yourself in the town’s culture, history and sights, and also do some shopping. Your first stop is the local fish market, the town’s commercial hub. Then, it’s off to the town square, followed by the municipal market. You’ll stop at Tamales Any, a typical Mexican restaurant for a refreshment and continue to the local church to learn about its rich history. You’ll then have approximately 30 minutes to practice your bargaining skills as you shop, before heading back to the pier. Or you can choose to stay longer and return to your ship on your own.

Return to the Victorian era as you stop at the University of Tampa campus, once the former Tampa Bay Hotel built in 1891 as a palatial resort. This elegant structure stands on 150 acres of lush tropical grounds overlooking the Hillsborough River. The Hotel was built and furnished by railroad tycoon Henry Bradley Plant, recapturing an aura for an opulent Victorian winter resort. This magnificent structure, with its eye catching silver minarets, was modeled after the Alhambra Palace in Granada Spain and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1886, Vicente Martinez Ybor bought forty acres of land from local Tampa citizens and began building Ybor City. Thus began this community of factories and small worker’s homes. At the Ybor City State Museum complex, you will pass by an authentically renovated cigar worker’s shotgun house dating from the turn of the century that was the home of early cigar factory workers.

A stop will be made in Ybor City and you will learn about the unique society that created the cigar industry, the primary manufacturing industry responsible for the early development of Tampa. Other highlights include a drive along Bayshore Boulevard where you’ll see lovely upscale homes overlooking the Bay and the waterfront area, home to the Tampa Convention Center, Forum, Cruise Terminals, Shoppes at Channelside, the Florida Aquarium and Harbour Island, plus the Sports Complexes that are home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the spring training home of the New York Yankees.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the historic town of Falmouth, where you’ll see St. Peter’s Anglican Church, one of the oldest and largest Anglican churches in Jamaica. The supporting columns are made of solid mahogany and the floor includes crosses inlaid with mahoe and mahogany. You'll see graves spanning over 200 years in the cemetery. Your excursion continues to the Swamp Safari Village for the safari, conducted by a trained guide in groups not exceeding 25 persons.

Observe crocodiles being called, fed and handled by the renowned crocodile handler Buddy and stroll through the walk-thru Aviary and view several very rare local birds, such as the Mountain Witch & Ring-tailed Pigeon. See the rare & endangered Jamaican Coney and view a variety of rarely seen animals from the region such as the Agouti, Tayra and Spotted Paca to name a few. Venture into Kanaga House and hear about the famous croc-jumping scene in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, shot on location there in 1972.
