OVERVIEW

Observe some of Africa’s most iconic animals on a safari-style drive through the Zulu Nyala Private Game Reserve and then recount your adventure over lunch. Soon after heading into the bush in an open-air, 4-wheel-drive vehicle, you can expect to see a variety of magnificent animals that may include African elephants, rhinos and Cape buffalo. Imagine the thrill of pausing in this natural habitat while a towering giraffe meanders by just a few feet away. Or perhaps you will catch sight of a spiral-horned Nyala, a somewhat shy antelope endemic to the region. There is no telling what you will see as the animals roam freely through the protected reserve. Birds are also abundant and you may spot ostriches, black-headed herons and fork-tailed drongos. Following this wondrous experience in the bush, you will dine at the Zulu Nyala Heritage Safari Lodge, a landmark hotel built in the 1940s.

Need to Know:

Note: This tour includes minimal walking/standing; but it could be difficult for some guests with walking difficulties to get in and out of the open vehicles, the roads in the game reserve are gravel. there will be some inclines and parts of the game drive can be bumpy and is not recommended for guests with back or neck issues. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns who are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes and binoculars are recommended. Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones on or during the game drive, they are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles as it will disturb the animals. And for safety reasons no children under the age of 6 are permitted on this tour. Animal Sightings are not guaranteed.
