OVERVIEW

Settle in for a panoramic drive around Cadiz and come away with an excellent overview of the city, especially after spending free time in Old Town. You will first see key landmarks around the perimeter of the peninsula that contains the historical district where Cadiz was founded. Two bridges span the Bay of Cadiz and connect the peninsula to the mainland – the Carranza bridge, which features a drawbridge, and the Bridge of the Constitution of 1812, named for a document that limited the monarchy’s power. You will also pass beautiful La Victoria and La Caleta beaches and continue through La Viña, a vibrant neighborhood that was once a vineyard. By the time you start to independently explore Old Town, you should have a good idea of the attractions that you wish to see. If dining is of interest, tapas bars are plentiful or you may prefer to concentrate on shopping.
