Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
Call it “Playa” like the locals do, which means ‘beach’. This coastal town in the Riviera Maya region is not only known for its cuisine, culture and pristine beaches, but it is also home to two UNSECO World Heritage Sites–Chichen Itza and Reserva de la Biósfera Sian Ka'an. Spend your days at the Mayan Riviera soaking the sun, then take a walk around Mexico’s own Fifth Avenue, la Quinta Avenida. This road will take you through fashion boutiques, shops, gourmet restaurants and the never-sleeping spirit of the Playa people. Rest up at an ecological theme park called Xcaret, where you can kayak or find a seven-course dinner and a show extravaganza. Visit caves
and underground rivers, but make sure you make time for laying in the sand.
