OVERVIEW

The Alaska Rain Forest Sanctuary is not exclusive to your tour, it is a multi-use site, so you will encounter guests participating in other tour products and activities. To minimize resource impacts and maximize wildlife viewing opportunities, this tour is available only to small groups and on a limited basis. It is important to note that seasonal ecosystem changes result in varying levels of wildlife activity and there are times when bears will not be present. Please keep this in mind when booking the tour. Operates rain or shine. Wear comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing. The elevated boardwalk can be as high as 15 feet off the ground.

HELPFUL HINTS

• Dress in weather-appropriate clothing.
• Wear flat comfortable walking shoes.

Need to Know:

Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age and weigh no more than 300 lbs. A fishing license ($15) is required for ages 16 and up. We recommend purchasing in advance at store.adfg.alaska.gov to save time or on the boat with cash as payment. Weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Your guide will facilitate delivery of your catch, if desired, to a local 3rd party fish processor after the trip. Credit card info is needed for the fish processing form. We spend approximately 4 hours fishing with an additional 1 hour of roundtrip travel time to the fishing grounds. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations from May 1st through July 15th limit 1 halibut per person up to 40 inches or over 80 inches. From July 16 through October the limit is 1 halibut per person up to 36 inches or over 80 inches. Halibut fishing will be catch and release on Fridays only from July 19 through September 13.
